Co-founded by Gilbert Galindo, John Glover, and Ryan MacGavin in 2009, the series showcased up-and-coming and established NYC artists of various disciplines from contemporary music performers, composers, DJs, dancers, fashion designers, poets, visual artists, and more. This time around, Gilbert and Ryan team up with conductor Ian Shafer to continue the series in 2020. However, we need help to get this off the ground and we ask for your support! NYsoundCircuit is a multimedia salon series showcasing various arts disciplines and bringing their audiences together in an engaging environment for a full evening of works by contemporary artists.

At NYsoundCircuit, we believe in the integrated experience of art in the 21st century. The mission of NYsoundCircuit is to bring admirers of various artistic disciplines together providing more exposure to those disciplines and their artists, to foster new collaborations, to provide creative and social opportunities for artists who may not have opportunities otherwise, and to provide new communities of artistic experience and development. These sorts of encounters not only help enrich an artist’s livelihood and work, or the audience’s diet of experience, but the greater community and region as a whole.

The Experience

NYsoundCircuit brings you a continuous musical and visual experience of alternating live instrumentalists, singers, electronic music artists, visual artists, and more that are propulsive, engaging, and experimental. By providing a relaxed and sonically charged atmosphere, NYsoundCircuit gives you the new and daring on your own terms for a completely unfiltered experience.

Presented in loft or gallery spaces, performances by multiple contemporary music soloists or groups in multiple locations throughout the venue are interspersed by DJ sets. The musical performances are presented along with visual art, dance, spoken word, or art installations. A donations-accepted bar is open before, during, and after the performances.

New for the Relaunch

New for this season is the addition of Resonant Refractions, the resident sinfonietta of NYsoundCircuit, conducted by Ian Shafer, who will perform large ensemble works of living composers from the Americas.
